When I hear a good song, I want to play it again, put it on repeat.
One such song is Elevation Worship’s aptly titled Do It Again:
“I’ve seen you move, You move the mountains
And I believe I’ll see you do it again
You made a way where there was no way
And I believe I’ll see you do it again”
DO YOU BELIEVE?
Do you believe that God will continue to do what he has done in the past?
That he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion?
That we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do?
Do you believe Jesus when he said “whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these”?
That you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be Jesus’ witnesses?
Do you believe? Are you looking forward to what God will do next?
Habakkuk’s prayer,
“Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known”
is a prayer that he would see, in his life, God at work again.
And that should be our prayer to.
God is already on mission. Looking forward together refocuses us to hope; to imagine all that God will do and ask him to use us for his glory.
To think about this more, listen to the sermon entitled, “Looking Back”.
