Looking Back

Sometimes I take a whole sequence of photos, only to look back and see that a lot of them are blurry.
How did I do that?

There are times in our lives and in our life as a church that we need to stop and refocus because things can get a bit blurry. There are many of ways to refocus, one of them is by looking back.
“We’ve come this far” – celebration
“We’ve done it before we can do it again” – repetition
“And we’ve learnt from last time” – growth
Celebrate, repeat, grow.

I HAVE HEARD, I STAND IN AWE

The prophet Habakkuk writes,
“Lord, I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.”

He was looking back to God’s history of faithfulness, goodness, love and mercy. And as a church we can do that too; not to glorify the past, but to build our expectation of what God will do in the future. So as we celebrate our anniversary as a Baptist Church, we’re looking back to all that God has done to refocus us for what is to come.

To think about this more, listen to the sermon entitled, “Looking Back”.
