When you read of the first time Isaac lays eyes on Rebekah and Rebekah lays eyes on Isaac, you just know their marriage is going to last. Theirs is, quite literally, a match made in heaven. What do I mean? When Rebekah sees her future husband for the very first time, he’s meditating. He’s making time, at the end of the working day, to meditate. As for Isaac, he looks up and sees a young woman who has let go of everything to put her faith in the God of Abraham. A man and a woman who have made God a priority. Sure they’ll get it wrong from time to time. They’ll both make mistakes. But importantly, they have a foundation upon which to build a future together – a strong and vibrant faith in the one true God. You want to know what makes for a lasting relationship? Making time for God, and letting go of everything that might get in the way. And if you don’t do that already, it’s about time you did.
