‘Whatever you do,’ is pretty comprehensive right. At home, at work, at play. When talking to your children, your husband, your wife. Driving in your car, sitting on the train, walking down the street. Gathering with God’s people or sitting in front of the tv – whatever you do. Whatever you do, what?

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” (Colossians 3:23)

Love your wife, serve your husband, obey your parents, encourage your children, bear with each other, forgive one another – whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord. Imagine for a moment, if God’s holy people did that, what the church, our families, our work places, our communities would be like. No fighting, no grudges, no malice, no mistreatment, no gossip, no slander. Only harmonious, joyous, fruitful relationships, all for God’s glory. ‘Whatever you do’ sounds pretty good to me.
