Psalm 28:6 signals something of a crescendo. It’s the highest point of the Psalm. David has been praying to God, hoping that he will be heard. And then comes the cry, “Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy.” The Spirit of God signals to David that his deepest need has been met by Yahweh. What is his deepest need? Mercy! It’s my deepest need also. In case you didn’t know it, it’s your deepest need too. And here’s the thing, when you seek God’s mercy He will hear you. He will hear you and grant you what you desire. God doesn’t withhold it. Not from anyone. David is just so thankful because he understands the depth of his need. Let me ask you something, do you know the depth of your need?
