How does your day begin I wonder? Mine almost always begins with a cup of coffee. I don’t think I’m addicted to it, but it sure does taste good. How we start the day is important isn’t it.
We’ve all heard the expression, “he or she must have got out of the wrong side of the bed,” haven’t we. For some reason the day hasn’t started well. Maybe we stubbed our toe. Maybe we haven’t resolved the problems of yesterday. Maybe we’re just grumpy. In any event, we all know what it’s like to start the day well. And we all know what it’s like to get out of the wrong side of the bed.
You know what? I have no idea at all how your day has started. Perhaps, like me, you got out of bed, and thought to yourself, “today is going to be a good day.” Perhaps not. Maybe it’s anything but good. But here’s the thing.
Good start or bad, optimistic or not,
God is right there with you.
If you have placed your faith in Him, He has promised to take a hold of your hand and never let go. He’s holding it right now. He’s holding it when your day starts well, and He’s holding it when you’ve just stepped out of the wrong side of the bed. That’s because He’s not like us in that respect. He loves us with a love we barely know anything about. He loves us warts and all. And when I think about that as I open my eyes to start the day, I just know that today is going to be a good day.
