New Sermon Series: The Unlikely – Judges
After the great leaders of the past (Moses, Joshua and others), the book of Judges covers centuries of the history of God’s people, ultimately ending with everyone in Israel doing what is right in their own eyes. There’s a cycle of rebellion, retribution, repentance and rescue.
And yet throughout this period, God in his mercy raised up the unlikely Judges – the broken and flawed; old and young; women and men – to be part of his rescue plan. This is not a book of virtues, moral stories for us to follow. Instead it points us to the greater story, of a God who relentlessly offers grace to rebellious hearts. God is still saving his people, he is still accomplishing his will, he is still working through the unlikely.
Come join us at either service or listen online as we dive into the book of Judges each Sunday (2 June – 14 July).
